A walk among heros
Today, we walked in honor and in memory of the littlest Heros from Duke's Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. It's hard to find the words really. It was a celebration, a reunion, and also a sobering reminder that although today we have Charlotte in our little family of five, we do not know what our future holds. For many families there, it was comforting to be back among all of the other warrior families. But I cannot pretend to even know the depths of their emotions. We got to see our beloved Austin family and Chloe's family as well as many others. There was even a family who just lost their son last week. They were there to honor him and stand strong together. It was so emotional, humbling, and inspiring. So many there have lost their world, their babies, their sons and daughters and brothers and sisters. During the balloon release, which honored all the little angels of 5200, holding Charlotte and Taylor and Parker near, Brian and I were so grateful to be still here on this road. We still have a long journey and a lot of uncertainty but we have today. We have right now. Isn't that all we all have? And we will keep going, keep moving while praising God along the way because we haven't gotten here alone. If you are reading this, we got here today because of you. We got here today because of those amazing doctors and nurses at Duke. We got here today because of all the researchers and foundations raising money for research. We got here today because of the many children before us with Neuroblastoma who either have kept going or have passed on. We have gotten here today, standing as a family, because of Gods grace and mercy and strength and love. We are still here and today was a beautiful moment to pause, recognize, and remind ourselves of where we are and where we hope and pray to be one day. God bless all of you and all of the families and people at The Rainbow Of Heros walk today❤️🌈
Taylor said it best the other day when she said #familystrong
