Home from backwards world
She's home. It's going to take sometime to recover but atleast she gets to do it at home. She'll have several clinic appointments this week starting tomorrow unfortunately, but she needs follow up as her little body is trying to get right again. We have CO2 levels in blood to monitor, many electrolyte imbalances, kidney function enzymens are off, coagulation (blood clotting) timing is high, weight to
monitor as she hasn't truly eaten well all week including 3 full days of nothing, diarrhea including C Diff to clear up. She's been through so much.
Isn't it strange how her hospitalizations are a little backward? But that is the nature of this beast. Most people have to be hospitalized because they are very sick or hurt and they come home when they are feeling better. But not Charlotte. She feels better then ever before she's hospitalized and comes home feeling like a Mac truck hit her and we spend days and days nursing her back to health. So this week, when she's not at the hospital for her clinic check up appointments, we will get her eating again and healing with rest and play and fresh air and cuddles. Your prayers, sweet messages, kind words, and cheering have carried us all this time and they still continue to pour in. We've recieved groceries, meals, and help with our children--special thanks to Pops and Mimi (Doug and Joanne) this week. Doug spent 2 full weeks here and Mimi came for a long weekend but they both sacrificed time away from each other and their normal lives to pause and come care for Taylor and Parker while we were at both RMH and the hospital the last 2 weeks. We are so grateful for them. A family brought bags of groceries last Sunday for our family. Many others privided meals several nights over the last couple weeks to help Brian and Doug with dinner. We had help from a neighbor to help car pool the kids to day camp. Several people came buy with last minute needed items from target to save us the trip. And it truly took a village a few nights ago to get the kids to their swim meet as Doug graciously came to sit with Charlotte so I could go meet Brian there and watch Taylor and Parker swim in their meet. Families helped transport the kids to their swim meet, one even picked up dinner to bring them, and some pitched in when they had forgotten their towels...a special friend and neighbor even just rough us fresh peaches. The list could go on. It's hard to express the gratitude we really feel to all of you who have surrounded our little family in love this year. I started writing last week about our experience being on the receiving side of so much charity. I hadn't finished it yet so I haven't posted it but I hope to soon. It speaks to another aspect of how God is working in our lives while we heal our baby girl.

Homeward bound
She even ate a few bites of lunch. Something about being home
Miss NC came to visit while we were in patient. She felt so
awful but she managed to hold the tiara and reached over to pull back her smock to see her pretty green gown and sparkly sash😊Of course to Charlotte, MacKenzie was a princess. I tried to explain what a beauty queen was by comparing her to a horse show winner because Charlotte understands horse shows...not sure how Miss NC took that comparison 😂
Village sent us a sweet rainbow today while driving home! Hi James foot❤️🌈
