A prayer request amid our own amazing news

First of all, We got excellent news back as Charlotte’s full lab work ups (blood and chemistries) returned and everything was perfect! We must monitor Charlotte very closely, not just for evidence of cancer but for a host of other issues these kids will face after all this treatment. So, we celebrate this moment where she is doing so great! We are still getting results back regarding what immunizations she has retained antibodies for and so far it looks like she will need to repeat many but that is expected after transplant.

Secondly, for those who have cared for Riley Rose, she has a very big day today. I wanted to ask for your prayers once again, for this little girl who has stolen our hearts over here. Her family is praying for a miracle...once again. Unfortunately, the trial she started after she relapsed has not worked. Recent scans show her disease has continued to progress. They are devastated. Today, they are having another scan to determine the full extent of her disease progression. She is also battling many side effects from treatment. Her parents will have some tough decisions to make very soon. Decisions that none of us can imagine. Decisions I can’t even type. And she asked a question to our group, a question that had haunted me since I read it. I wil write more about this another day. For now, this family needs so many things but let’s start with lifting them up today as they learn what they are facing.

I wrote Riley’s mom, Kristin, this am when I read this online meme that said “Pray Big. Then stand back and see what God will do.” This is my prayer today:

“Over the last 2 years, I’ve had to really learn what it meant to surrender and give up “control”. No one can know this more then you and Rick. We have such a limited time in the drivers seat really. So today, my prayers will center around you and your husband holding strong and firm in all the decisions you will be making for Riley’s care and treatment. I know if and when you “get stuck”, Jesus will take the wheel❤️🌈”
God please be with this family who is holding on best they can. This family who is hurting, who is so afraid.  This family needs peace but also hope. If not hope, then please, peace.
