Charlotte's Adventure for injection #2

So Charlotte needs to be in the clinic at MSK in NYC for 3 Thursdays in a row to start this vaccine trial. Her second of 7 vaccine injections is Thursday 10/5 and Corporate Angel network arranged for a corporate jet to transport us up there! We could only get as far as Trenton NJ so...Charlotte and I are taking the train from NJ to NYC too! Good thing we have quite the adventurous spirit built in. The corporate jet was beyond amazing!! Some corporations donate space on their private Jets to this charity (Corporate Angel Network) for children to be able to get to various hospitals and such as they are undergoing treatment. The social workers referred us a while ago and this time it worked out! Once we arrived, a limo drive us from the hanger to the train station! We then took a 90 minute train ride into Penn Station NYC. We then cabbed it to RMH. We ate dinner and played bingo and had some playroom fun before tucking in after the long travel day. Today, we went to MSK clinic bright and early with the hopes she wouldn't have an adverse reaction and we could get home today. Alll went well for her second injection so we are heading home this afternoon! Clinic days can be quite long as they actually make the vaccine for Charlotte once she arrives and is cleared to receive it. Thai process can take several hours. Since she has a little runny nose, we were kept in isolation so no playroom fun at MSK but never the less, Charlotte usually brings the fun right with her. She's grown up the last year and a half in and out of the hospital and waiting rooms at clinic so she is very use to the nature of this beast. We wish she didn't have to be but we like to think it will help create some positive personality trait as she grows. Sometimes you gotta grab on to whatever positive you can. However, we have so much to be positive about don't we....

So I write this while a sleeping Charlotte is curled up in my lap as we wait for our flight home. Until our next adventure, we thank you all for your continued prayers as we continue to face the unknown with faith and hope and gratitude as we always aim to do❤️🌈

Flying on a G6!

Of course we get a rainbow on the plane!

A CEO of the company we flew with  gave Charlotte a new cuddly friend, who was strapped into one of the seats on the plane❤️ She adores it and likes that it's a mommy/daddy bear holding its baby.

Train!

She won't Bingo. When she picked out her prize, a gift card, of course she immediately asked to go use it. What 3 year old understands delayed gratification πŸ˜‚after she threw quite a fit, we played some more.

Breakfast in clinic. Ready for injection #2 of 7.
